Put your Apple Silicon Mac to work across your archive. Stringout’s private on-device models analyze the picture, spoken words and speaker turns, making retained footage searchable without uploading your originals for analysis.

How Stringout solves this

01

Search old jobs by what you remember

Fast hybrid search combines keyword matches with semantic matches across file details, descriptions and transcripts. Search for the idea behind an interview answer, even when you cannot remember the exact words.

Speaker analysis separates turns in the recording. Review who spoke when, name the voices in your project, and return to the passage you need.

02

Find the shot you remember

Stringout recognizes what appears in indexed video, so you can search visual subjects even when a filename offers little help. Search for “arctic” to compare icebergs, fjords, birds and walruses, then choose the range that fits the new cut.

03

Reuse footage from your own drives

Video recognition, transcription and semantic analysis run on your Apple Silicon Mac. Your originals stay on your drives during local analysis, so a large archive can become searchable without a cloud upload.

Check the result in its source preview and read its analysis. Save the usable range with its source link, then review rights before continuing in your NLE.

Archive questions

How long should I keep old footage?

Your client agreement sets that. Whatever you keep, Stringout makes searchable once it has been indexed.

Can I search a drive after unplugging it?

Yes, once Stringout has finished indexing it. You can search the cached analysis and hover through its contact sheet. Reconnect the drive to play the original or render a cut on the Mac that indexed it.

With Stringout Pro, search up to 1 million files from a web browser, including on a phone, once analysis has finished sharing.

Does Stringout back up or restore old projects?

Keep your own backup copies and project dependencies. Stringout helps locate retained source footage. Restoring deleted media, missing plug-ins or an NLE project that no longer opens still depends on your archive.

Who pays for archive storage and retrieval?

Stringout’s on-device search, AI and transcription are free and unlimited. You still pay for your own storage and backups. Retrieval fees follow your client agreement. Pro adds team sharing, with allowances for cloud features.
