The story is somewhere in hours of uncut interviews and coverage. Stringout transcribes and indexes all of it on your Mac, so you can search the interviews by what was said or what was meant and find picture to go with each answer. You build the stringouts from the answers you choose and take the cut into your NLE.

How Stringout solves this

01

Search every interview by meaning, on your Mac

Transcribe the full interview backlog on your Apple Silicon Mac without purchased transcription hours. Stringout’s on-device models keep that analysis local, and hybrid search combines exact words with semantic meaning so you can find an answer without remembering its phrasing.

Speaker analysis separates turns for review, while video recognition helps you find supporting picture across the same library. Check a promising passage in its full recording, then compare it with other answers. You decide which voice, delivery and context belong in the documentary.

02

Turn indexed sources into a stringout you can direct

Build from the interviews, footage analysis and saved cuts already indexed in Stringout. Ask for a stringout around a theme or a shorter selection from an earlier pass. Reuse the source context and save a separate cut without repeating the original preparation.

Review the chat beside the timeline and inspect the ranges it chose. Keep several candidate answers or picture options on separate tracks, so the first proposal is one option among several. Each new revision can preserve its parent, so your earlier choices remain available.

Rally documentary selects revision with five staggered video tracks, two audio tracks and a conversation requesting grouped source alternatives while preserving the earlier cut.

03

Keep every select connected to its full recording

A select is a range of its original recording. Return to the full answer when you need context, search for a different delivery or ask a connected assistant to restore a passage from an earlier cut. The indexed source library stays useful as your editorial decisions change. Transcription and search run on your Mac, and nothing is uploaded for them. A connected assistant receives only what it asks Stringout for, under its own account terms.

On Free, export the cut as EDL/ALE or OpenTimelineIO. With Stringout Pro, open it directly in Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve or Final Cut Pro as an editable timeline with the original source’s identity preserved. Keep the media available and finish the cut in the editor you already use.

Some NLE handoffs use HEVC edit media while preserving the original source’s identity. Use the camera originals for finishing.
